Wendi Kallins, the former District 4 supervisor candidate who came in third in the primary, has announced her support of Dominic Grossi, saying he will be more willing to learn and listen than his opponent, Dennis Rodoni. Ms. Kallins, who won the majority of the vote in the San Geronimo Valley, said the protection of agriculture is the most important issue in the race, and that Mr. Grossi’s life in ranching makes him a more suitable defender of agriculture. “He supports what I support,” she said. The biggest issues facing the San Geronimo Valley, Ms. Kallins went on, are the proposed Woodacre Flats sewer system and reasonable streamside development regulations. Mr. Grossi is “much more likely to continue Kinsey’s approach of balancing the rights of homeowners with protection of the creek and helping to move the Woodacre Flats project forward,” she said. “When people say how can you support [Mr. Grossi], I just say, ‘Go meet him.’ It happened to me; I was running against him, but got to meet him and found we have a lot of agreements.” This week, Mr. Grossi also received the endorsement of State Assembly Member Marc Levine, who noted Mr. Grossi’s goal to protect agriculture in the Point Reyes National Seashore, and Mr. Rodoni was endorsed by Novato Mayor Pat Eklund. Ms. Eklund cited his “experience, knowledge and independent voice.”
