The storm on Tuesday brought down over 20 trees in Marin, closing roads for several hours and knocking out a few residential power lines. Full crews from the county fire department and the Department of Public Works spent most of the day clearing roadways blocked by trees that had been stripped from the ground by 45 to 55 m.p.h. winds. One tree totaled a car and tore up driveway pavers at a home on the corner of Redwood Drive and Park Street, in Woodacre. No injuries were reported. Flooding was sparse throughout the county, except for one wet patch on Olema Bolinas Road. Although some cars were hindered during the morning commute, most just drove straight through the water. “It’s good rainfall,” said Jim Fox, the Inverness fire chief, noting that the 2.01 inches that fell in town would help ease the drought-plagued region. “Nice to have the rain. And there was a pretty good lightning show. Otherwise it was not significantly unusual for a winter storm.”
