A stolen car, swerving on Highway One south of Stinson Beach, plunged off a 200-foot cliff on Saturday afternoon. The car’s driver, Joshua Stewart, a 26-year-old from Arbuckle and Vallejo, was pronounced dead at the scene. The red Honda Accord was reported stolen in Vallejo. Witnesses say they saw the southbound car plummet off a cliff near Rocky Point Road at 4:26 p.m. The California Highway Patrol closed the highway for more than an hour while a tow truck lifted the car back onto the highway. A Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office helicopter removed the body, said C.H.P. officer Andrew Barclay. The coroner arrived at the scene, but the body was not publicly identified until Tuesday.
