Two incumbents are campaigning to serve for a short, two-year post on the Tomales Village Community Service District board. Eric Knudsen is running against Sue Sims for the seat to which Ms. Sims was appointed to fill a vacancy. Mr. Knudsen, a chemist, reached the end of his four-year term, and says he plans to retire in two years. Formed in 1998, the community service district manages the town’s wastewater treatment and maintains the community park. The district’s upkeep is largely funded through donations, fundraisers and grants, with some additional revenue through Measure A. Three new members are also running unchallenged for three seats vacated by retirements and Mr. Knudsen’s decision to challenge Ms. Sims. The new members will be Brian Lamoreaux, a solar designer; William Bonini, a building contractor; and Deborah Parrish, a financial officer. Each will have four-year terms.
