The 2010 Academic Performance Index scores and rankings for four of the schools in the Shoreline Unified School District are now available for viewing by the public. According to the index, which uses annual standardized testing results to tracks California schools’ academic performance, West Marin Elementary and Tomales Elementary both had index scores above 800, which is considered the benchmark goal for all schools. Bodega had a score of 737, which was a significant drop from its previous year’s score of 816. Though Tomales High had a score below 800 (762), it improved significantly on its previous year’s score of 721. When compared with other similar schools, Tomales High was ranked 9 (10 being the highest and most desired rank), Tomales Elementary was ranked 8, and West Marin Elementary was ranked 7. Inverness Elementary was not evaluated by the index.
