Dr. Colin Hamblin will join Dr. Michael Whitt at West Marin Medical Center in Point Reyes Station this month, leaving the Coastal Health Alliance where he has worked since 2004. Hamblin specializes in gerontology and family practice, and has been eager to begin a private practice. He is known to his patients for being personable and even making calls to nursing homes. Eric Fimbres, interim executive director of the Coastal Health Alliance, said most of Hamblin’s patients will most likely stay with him once he moves, though the other doctors with alliance are prepared to see any remaining patients. “We’ll certainly feel it, and we’ll certainly miss him,” Fimbres said. “Overall, we have to look at it as a good thing for the community that he’s still here. It becomes the common denominator for the two organizations to collaborate,” Fimbres said.
