The Marin County Sheriffs Office’s Marijuana Eradication Team (MET) hauled 7,375 mature plants Tuesday from a property on the steep terrain of Hicks Mountain off of Point Reyes-Petaluma Road after deer hunters reported the elaborate grow operation about a week ago. Sleeping bags, personal items, a large power generator and other evidence found at the site indicated that two to three people were tending to and living near the garden and that it had been recently abandoned. Lieutenant Doug Pittman said deputies were currently investigating the strong leads, but no suspects have been formally identified.
