Last Thursday, the trustees of the Shoreline Unified School District hired Beth Nolan, who has been serving as the interim principal for the West Marin and Inverness Schools since late January, to the permanent post. The decision comes as a relief for the district: the board reassigned the previous principal, Matt Nagle, to a teaching post in Bodega Bay last spring amid conflict, and cycled through two interim replacements before Ms. Nolan arrived. She recently relocated from the East Coast, where she gained more than a decade of experience in education, including most recently as an assistant principal for a 550-student elementary school in Chelsea, Mass.
