A 58-year-old Fairfax woman was found dead in a burning car at Millers Point boat launch next to Nick’s Cove last Thursday evening. Sheriffs Lieutenant Barry Heying said fire fighters responded to reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames at around 6 p.m., and that deputies arrived on the scene shortly after being notified that an individual had been located inside. The woman, identified as Nancy Herlands, 58, was pronounced dead on site. Heying said investigators do not believe Herlands’ death involved foul play.
