One of the stars of the celestial calendar this year is the upcoming solar eclipse, on Monday, April 8. It will arc from Baja California across the southeastern states up to Nova Scotia. Fog permitting, West Coast viewers may see a partial eclipse between noon and 2:25 p.m. Reminder: use eye protection. Coming up in mid-April is the Lyrid meteor shower.
