POINT REYES STATION: At 8:55 a.m. a man with large bags was in the stairway of a two-story building, someone on the second floor said.

OLEMA: At 9:55 a.m. a backpack, a phone and water bottles were scattered on a trail. 

STINSON BEACH: At 10:12 a.m. a man found a decomposing lower leg outside his house and said it was decidedly human. 

STINSON BEACH: At 12:38 p.m. a woman drove recklessly into town with her hazards on, then pulled over at the bookstore and yelled at people. Her speech was slurring.

TOMALES: At 4:26 p.m. a white cow was outside its pasture.

Wednesday, December 29

SAN GERONIMO: At 4:28 a.m. a man said his roommate was upstairs and in cahoots with his brothers.

HICKS VALLEY: At 9:52 a.m. a car rolled over.

TOMALES: At 11:45 a.m. someone was found dead.

POINT REYES STATION: At 2:19 p.m. a cow was on the roadside.

FOREST KNOLLS: At 3:41 p.m. a woman said her stepfather was being robbed by a roommate.

TOMALES: At 4:37 p.m. a woman called about her deceased friend.

NICASIO: At 5:29 p.m. AAA said they were unable to help a certain stranded driver.

TOMALES: At 7:13 p.m. someone called about a dead person’s cat.

STINSON BEACH: At 7:44 p.m. rocks had slid into a lane.

POINT REYES STATION: At 8:24 p.m. someone heard popping in a chimney.

INVERNESS PARK: At 9:01 p.m. someone said two people had pulled over and gone underneath his or her house. The people told a deputy they were sightseeing, looking for foxes in particular, and they showed pictures of foxes they’d taken in the past half-hour.

Thursday, December 30

INVERNESS PARK: At 9:24 a.m. someone called about last night’s incident with people allegedly looking for foxes.

INVERNESS PARK: At 10:43 a.m. the same person called again.

POINT REYES STATION: At 11:57 a.m. a woman said a homeless man had been following her and making suggestive and threatening statements.

INVERNESS PARK: At 12:24 p.m. someone called about the previous day’s incident regarding foxes.

LAGUNITAS: At 2:14 p.m. someone said the parking lot at the fish-viewing area had overflowed and cars were parking illegally and people walking around dangerously. 

INVERNESS PARK: At 2:30 p.m. the same woman said the same people who had trespassed the day before (claiming they were looking for foxes) had returned but in a different car. 

SEASHORE: At 2:43 p.m. a mushroom forager was lost off Limantour Road.

LAGUNITAS: At 4:05 p.m. someone said four men were illegally fishing in the creek, where salmon were spawning.

POINT REYES STATION: At 4:35 p.m. a car was stalled.

Friday, December 31

TOMALES: At 2:23 a.m. a man said his sister had shoved and hit him but he declined to offer more information or cooperate with an investigation.

POINT REYES STATION: At 9:45 a.m. someone reported losing a wallet near the gas station.

POINT REYES STATION: At 10:48 a.m. someone reported finding a wallet. The log noted that a woman was upset that her husband was inside a location because of Covid and that she was crying, pounding on a door and yelling, “This is so unfair!”

SAN GERONIMO: At 11:33 a.m. deputies logged a report of vandalism.

POINT REYES STATION: At 11:51 a.m. someone came to the substation to pick up a lost wallet.

INVERNESS: At 2:39 p.m. a man said he caught a woman wandering around his property who was “well put together,” like an appraiser, though she claimed to be looking for her dog, which is not what it looked like she was doing.

SEASHORE: At 3:51 p.m. a van was stuck in mud.

WOODACRE: At 4:52 p.m. a woman said an item in her house—she would not say exactly what—had been moved and that her phone was likely tapped. She asked deputies to check her attic and shed, just in case. They suggested she put up cameras.

MOUNT TAM: At 6:26 p.m. a recreator had lost her car key.  

SAN GERONIMO: At 6:34 p.m. two horses were running west on the boulevard.

STINSON BEACH: At 10:18 p.m. deputies detained a beachgoer on a drug violation.

STINSON BEACH: At 10:49 p.m. someone reported fireworks.

BOLINAS: At 11:40 p.m. a deputy patrolled downtown.

Saturday, January 1

DILLON BEACH: At 12:03 a.m. fireworks were sounding.

STINSON BEACH: At 12:27 a.m. a man said his siblings had held him down and one had poured water on his head and they had left him out to dry.

STINSON BEACH: At 1:44 a.m. medics attended to someone.

INVERNESS PARK: At 7:04 a.m. a passerby reported a shirtless man with scratches on his back crouching in a curb, yelling profanities. Deputies booked him for public drunkenness.

FOREST KNOLLS: At 8:35 a.m. medics assisted someone.

STINSON BEACH: At 9:43 a.m. smoke was billowing from below an R.V.

BOLINAS: At 10:50 a.m. a homeless person reported finding remains. Deputies confirmed they were not human.

WOODACRE: At 11:48 a.m. someone had died.

NICASIO: At 7:08 p.m. someone heard a loud blast.

MARSHALL: At 7:39 p.m. a car drove off the highway.

Sunday, January 2

HICKS VALLEY: At 8:23 a.m. a silver car had crashed into a tree.

SEASHORE: At 8:57 a.m. a beachgoer reported a lost or stolen phone that was pinging in El Cerrito. In fact, a good Samaritan had picked up and returned it to its owner.

SAN GERONIMO: At 9:26 a.m. three cows had escaped a fence that the rancher said someone had cut.

DILLON BEACH: At 2:08 p.m. two crabbers had capsized at the mouth of Tomales Bay.

STINSON BEACH: At 2:29 p.m. someone’s 7-year-old granddaughter was missing on the beach.

TOMALES: At 3:41 p.m. a woman said her sister-in-law was screaming and she was trying to keep it out of earshot of her children.

TOMALES: At 4:48 p.m. a deputy patrolled the high school.

OLEMA: At 6:05 p.m. a man said his diabetic teenaged son had not returned from a hike.

POINT REYES STATION: At 10:01 p.m. a deputy patrolled campus.

WOODACRE: At 11:50 p.m. someone requested a welfare check.

OLEMA: At 12:45 a.m. a deputy patrolled the campground.

POINT REYES STATION: At 9:54 a.m. a deputy left an abatement sticker on a boat trailer.

NICASIO: At 2:33 p.m. a homeowner saw a carful of people eating and throwing their garbage out the windows in the caller’s long driveway.

DILLON BEACH: At 3:31 p.m. a crabber said his gun had gone missing when he capsized his boat, where he’d put in a tackle box, the day before.

SAN GERONIMO: At 7:15 p.m. a woman said a homeless man with a flashlight was walking around outside a Presbyterian church and she was about to open up for a AA meeting. The man explained that he was looking for the meeting.

BOLINAS: At 7:55 p.m. someone called to ask how long a person has before they have to put a new vehicle in their name.

Tuesday, January 4

POINT REYES STATION: At 7:18 a.m. a vacationer said motion lights had come on in the night.

TOMALES: At 8:02 a.m. a tree fell into a road.

MARSHALL: At 8:56 a.m. someone needed medics.

BOLINAS: At 9:55 a.m. a resident trying to build a barn and community-style garden said a neighbor was making threats about it.

POINT REYES STATION: At 1:49 p.m. a car had driven off a road.

OLEMA: At 3:22 p.m. a cow was grazing outside a fence.

OLEMA: At 4:35 p.m. the cow was now atop Olema Hill.

BOLINAS: At 5:31 p.m. a father and daughter were screaming.

OLEMA: At 5:47 p.m. a woman said her husband had not returned from a camping trip.

STINSON BEACH: At 10:30 p.m. a tree was removed from the highway.
