Volunteers are being sought to serve on the Marin County Mental Health Board to represent mental health consumers, family members and the public interest. Board members are appointed by county supervisors to represent and advocate for the mental health needs of the people of Marin and to promote education, prevention and early intervention to meet the needs of the mentally ill. Seats are also open on the Marin County Assessment Appeals Boards, available to people with expertise in real estate, accounting, law and property appraisal. The application deadline is 5 p.m. August 23; applications for seats on the mental health board will be accepted until the vacancies are filled.
