An Inverness Park woman was nearly crushed by a tree limb that fell through her roof early Tuesday morning. Lynn DeBarrows, 73, had just made herself a cup of tea and was in the process of changing the channel from “this horrible movie called The Fast and the Furious” around 1:10 a.m. when a large redwood branch about one foot in diameter smashed through her ceiling and landed mere feet from where she sat. Unscathed, DeBarrows quickly called the fire department, which eventually removed the branch and patched the roof with plywood and tarps. As of Wednesday, she had no idea how much repairs would cost. Officials did not believe the incident was related to this week’s slew of early winter storms. “It was just one of those freak things,” DeBarrows said.
