Strap on your hiking boots or running shoes because registration is now open for the 2013 Point Reyes Trails Challenge, organized by the Point Reyes National Seashore Association in partnership with the National Park Service. The trails challenge is a four-month, self-paced “hike-a-thon” and community fundraiser for park trails that encourages participants to walk, hike, run or ride on 25, 50, 75 or 150 miles of park trails. Both individuals and teams can register and set a fundraising goal for the challenge, which takes place between June 1 and Oct. 1. The money goes toward trail design, construction and maintenance. Visit pointreyestrailschallenge.kintera.org or call (415) 663.1200 ext. 304 for information.
