Three burglars from Sonoma County were arrested early Friday morning after they pried into Toby’s Feed Barn and began snatching up cash and two registers.
A nearby local sleeping in the park across Mesa Road heard the sound of a window crashing and called the sheriff’s office. A deputy arrived and apprehended the thieves as they were walking toward their getaway vehicle.
Celt Carr, of Bodega Bay, and Antonio Cabrera, from Rohnert Park, were booked in Marin County Jail. The third suspect was a juvenile.
They entered through the rear door connected to Point Reyes Yoga. That door is now boarded up and under construction, with the note: “All is fine now; however, our doors are in need of some love.”
Oscar Gamez, who manages Toby’s, said one of the thieves was raised in Inverness and he expressed sympathy for the family. “When something like this happens, it breaks [the owner, Chris Giacomini’s] heart,” he said.
This is the fourth time Toby’s has been burglarized in the last three years. The business has installed security cameras and is now considering implementing an alarm system.
