A one-mile stretch of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on White Hill will be repaved this summer with a high-friction surface to improve safety on the popular route over the hill. The $1.64 million project will start in mid-July and should take about three months, according to a press release from the county. Construction will be done during daytime on weekdays, with one lane open for alternating one-way traffic. The project was contracted to Team Ghilotti of Petaluma and is partially funded by a state highway improvement grant. The county is hoping to resurface 31 percent of its most-used roads before 2020.
