BUSINESS: Rachel Delffs, manager of West Marin Pharmacy, bought Viewpoints from longtime owner Lee Flynn in November, with her sister Claudia Burke. They renamed it Leona’s.   David Briggs

Sisters Rachel Delffs and Claudia Burke are two months into a new business venture as the owners of Viewpoints, renamed Leona’s, in downtown Point Reyes Station. Ms. Delffs, who is training a replacement for her job as the manager of West Marin Pharmacy, said that former Viewpoints owner Lee Flynn approached her a little over two months ago about a sale. “We’d been each other’s customers, and I always loved the variety of products [at Viewpoints]” where Ms. Flynn sold art, clothing, purses, home décor, jewelry and gifts for over two decades, she said. “She thought it would be a good opportunity to have my own business, to have a turnkey opportunity.” Ms. Burke, who sported a grey polka dot scarf on Sunday afternoon as she rang up customers, owns a bookkeeping business and will handle finances. “The most unexpected thing,” Ms. Delffs said of the purchase, “is that people are thanking me for buying the store, that someone they know and respected bought the store. That a stranger didn’t buy it.” Leona’s—which is Ms. Delffs’ middle name and the name of her great-grandmother—will continue to feature Tom Killion, Susan Hall, Kathleen Lipinski and Todd Pickering, but it will also add others. But so far, the sisters have made few changes: rearranging merchandise, building a new dressing room (courtesy of Ms. Delffs’ husband) and bringing in a chair for tired customers to rest in. They have also added a few new pieces of merchandise, including a line of pearl jewelry and Buddha figures.
