Three of the 14 seats on the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary advisory council are open to applicants representing the general public, conservation and maritime activities. The council ensures public participation in the management of the marine protected area, located 42 miles north of San Francisco, and provides advice to the sanctuary superintendent. Candidates will be selected based on their expertise and experience, community and professional affiliations and knowledge of the protection and management of marine resources. Volunteers serve one three-year term. The deadline to apply is March 31.
