West Marin rancher and former president of the American Farmland Trust Ralph Grossi will talk about the future of food production in the United States on Sunday, December 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at West Marin School, in Point Reyes Station. Grossi, who was an original board member Marin Agricultural Land Trust and installed the region’s first methane digester, is currently a managing partner of his family’s 870-acre Marindale Ranch, in Indian Valley. He plans to discuss long-term trends, challenges and opportunities, such as land protection projects that are currently changing the face of food production. Later in the program, Grossi will be joined by Marin County Supervisor Steve Kinsey to share some thoughts on agriculture in Marin County.
