Some of Marin’s local races have tightened as ballots continue to be counted. Marin County voter registrar Lynda Roberts said that as mail-in ballots become prevalent in post-pandemic elections, the first night’s results offer nothing more than a “snapshot.” Supervisor Damon Connolly is now just five points ahead of opponent Sara Aminzadeh in their contest for state Assembly District 12, his commanding Election Night lead slipping as more ballots are processed. He is still nearly 3,500 votes ahead of Ms. Aminzadeh, who conceded the race, but there are still about 28,000 votes left to count, primarily from the many who mailed ballots on Election Day or the weekend before. In Inverness, the trouncing of Measure O has been weakened by new batches of votes, but the defeat remains clear and insurmountable, with more than 200 votes against the initiative versus 93 votes in favor. School board and utility district races look largely as they did last week.
