An online petition to lure Dennis Rodoni of Olema into the 4th District’s supervisor race may bear fruit: Mr. Rodoni, a lifelong West Marin resident and the owner of Rodoni Construction, who challenged Mr. Kinsey for the seat over a decade ago, said he is considering a run. “I need to sit down and talk with family,” he said on Wednesday. “It’s a hard decision, because it’s a big commitment.” The change.org petition, which had 24 signatories on Wednesday morning, was started by Inverness resident Jerry Meral, who believes Mr. Rodoni is a stronger candidate than those who have entered the race so far. “We need someone who understands West Marin’s problems, and knows how to solve them. Dennis is a proven community leader in West Marin,” he wrote on the petition. Mr. Rodoni said he decided in December not to run, but is reconsidering after multiple supporters approached him. “In 2004, I had broad-based support in West Marin. A lot of people have encouraged me,” he said, adding that he was “intrigued by Jerry’s approach,” likening it to an attempt to draft him into the race. Mr. Rodoni has served on the North Marin Water District’s board for just over two decades.
