The public will get another week to influence the scope of Point Reyes National Seashore’s plan for Tomales Point. Scheduled maintenance on the National Park Service’s planning website will block access from April 30 to May 1, so the park pushed the public comment deadline back to May 9. The ongoing comment period is an opportunity to raise issues and concerns about the way the park manages the fenced tule elk herd, whose population swings have concerned activists and wildlife management experts, and became the subject of a lawsuit filed last summer.
