The Point Reyes Light mistakenly reported that actress Gwyneth Paltrwo was in West Marin recently; it was, in fact, a writer for the online lifestyle website goop.com, which Ms. Paltrow curates. We regret the error.

The presence of actress and cookbook author Gwyneth Paltrow graced West Marin in recent days, according to a post on her lifestyle website, goop.com. Ms. Paltrow, who is sometimes criticized for her pricey and twee suggestions, documented her affection for bivalves at length, posting vintage-filtered pictures of her visits to local oyster farms, including Hog Island, Tomales Bay and Drakes Bay Oyster Companies. At the last, she received a quick shucking tutorial. (Ms. Paltrow, who used the hashtag #savedrakesbay, is a supporter of the farm, which she said “feels like the end of the earth, in the best possible way.”) She also stopped at the Marshall Store, where she ordered raw and barbequed oysters, as well as Osteria Stellina, where she selected the oyster pizza. Besides getting her fill of bivalves, she stopped at Nick’s Cove (she drank a Bloody Mary), Cowgirl Creamery and Sir and Star, whose aesthetic she described as “beautifully haunting.” Of downtown Point Reyes Station, she wrote, “This almost surreally quaint and charming town center summons a simpler time.” Ms. Paltrow, who stayed at Manka’s Inverness Lodge for the night, brought a breakfast to Chicken Ranch Beach and wandered down Tomales Bay Trail.
