Drake’s Bay Oyster Company owners Kevin and Nancy Lunny and scientist Corey Goodman have filed a complaint with the National Park Service requesting the expedited correction of information contained in two documents issued by Point Reyes National Seashore officials.
The complaint alleges that the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the oyster company’s Special Use Permit, and the Atkins peer review report on that document, do not conform to information-quality standards, which, according to the filing, must be “based on the best available science and supporting studies and the most current information available; highly transparent; supported by reliable data, including on-site data when required by law; consistent with sound and accepted practices and policies; evidence-based; reproducible by third parties; and objective and unbiased in terms of both presentation and substance.”
The 70-page complaint was filed pro bono through the nonprofit Cause of Action, which advocates for government accountability.
