Supervisor Steve Kinsey is recruiting candidates from unincorporated Marin for vacancies on several commissions that report to the Board of Supervisors. There are open seats on the Library Commission, which advises the board as well as the director of the Marin County Free Library on ways to enlist public interest in library services; the commission also provides independent citizen oversight for Measure A spending. Volunteers from the Inverness area are needed to serve on the local Flood Control Advisory Board, which reviews all flood control projects and the proposed annual budget for the zone, and advises supervisors of its findings. West Marin residents may also apply for seats on the Human Rights Commission, which advises supervisors and works to foster civic peace and eliminate prejudice and discrimination at the county level. Candidates may apply on the county’s website or by calling the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at (415) 473.7331.
