Marin supervisors is recruiting candidates for two openings on the Health Council of Marin and an at-large vacancy on the Human Rights Commission. Health care providers are eligible for the seats on the health council, which advises supervisors and the Department of Health and Human Services on health issues, advocates for the development and allocation of resources and educates on issues affecting the well-being of Marin citizens. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5. The Human Rights Commission advises supervisors on the elimination of prejudice and discrimination and the fostering of attitudes leading to civic peace and inter-group relations. The deadline to apply for that seat is 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11.
