A Mill Valley man was charged with a felony hit and run after he collided with a bicycle on Saturday, on Highway 1 near Panoramic Highway—apparently on purpose, according to the California Highway Patrol. According to a Highway Patrol statement, bicyclists Jonathan Kibera and Alex Boal, of Mill Valley and Corte Madera respectively, were biking south on Highway 1 as a number of cars began to pass them. Mr. Boal told the authorities that he flipped one car off after it honked at them. Then a black Tesla, driven by a Mill Valley resident named John Donovan, “pull[ed] in front of the cyclists and slow[ed] to a speed which prevented the cyclists from passing” and then quickly braked, causing Mr. Kibera to run into the Tesla and fall into the road. Mr. Donovan drove away. According to a statement released by the C.H.P., officers “determined that Donovan had been driving the vehicle…in an intentional manner that caused injury to Kibera” and “intentionally fled the scene.”
