Artist Lorraine Almeida is turning her Marshall studio into a weekend gallery, with an opening scheduled for October 13. Ms. Almeida was inspired by her interactions with the public when she opened her doors during a recent open studio tour. “I used to have a different attitude and a great deal of shyness,” she said. “But somehow meeting people who came to my studio was so positive, and I wanted to invite that life in more often.” The debut exhibit will feature the work of local artists Denis Bold, Mary Eubank, Christine de Camp, Charles Eckart, Marty Knapp, Pele de Lappe, Toni Littlejohn, Waldemere Mitrowski, Byron Randall, Susan Sasso, Shirley Salzman, Vickisa and Zea Morvitz. The works have been pulled from Ms. Almeida’s own art collection over the years, serving as a kind of 30-year retrospective for the area.
