The Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Nov. 4 before deciding whether to place a Stinson Beach special tax to fund flood control measures along Easkoot Creek on the ballot in March. The tax would be $250 for improved parcels, or $50 for unimproved parcels, and would raise $3.68 million toward the cost of continued sediment removal under bridges along the creek, a bypass to create more floodplain, wetland restoration and two dredgings of Easkoot from Arenal Avenue to Calle del Arroyo. But that will cover just 65 percent of the total cost of the feasibility studies, environmental review and proposed projects themselves, estimated at $5.7 million; locals will need to find private grants or donations to cover the remainder.
