Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) completed its purchase of the 3,800-acre Rancho Corral de Tierra from the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) Friday, adding the parcel’s coastal vistas and rolling hills to the area’s long list of destinations. GGNRA plans to improve parking, signage and access to the land, which is located in San Mateo County off of Highway One between Montara and El Granada, in order to host more visitors than the locals it currently serves. GGNRA will hold a series of public meetings in the coming months with community residents and land management agencies and hopes to have a draft plan prepared by the summer.
