The owner of Point Reyes Station’s gas station has withdrawn plans to convert the adjacent building into a convenience store and five new apartments. Immanuel Bereket, a senior planner with the Community Development Agency, said the building owner, Julie Van Alyea, did not specify a reason for withdrawing the plan but that the county had requested more information about the septic system upgrade. The application could be resubmitted after septic issues are addressed, Mr. Bereket said. Ms. Van Alyea, the president of Redwood Oil, a California company that owns 23 stations from Cotati to the Oregon border, could not be reached for comment. Her plans would not have changed the footprint of the building but likely would have required Blue Waters Kayaking and the Ink Paper Plate print shop to relocate. One of the apartments would have been set aside for affordable housing.
