Gallery Route One this week announced a new 18-month fellowship for young Bay Area artists ages 21 to 35. The nonprofit art collective will offer two solo exhibits to fellows, who in turn will supervise the Point Reyes Station gallery roughly once a month during open hours and attend quarterly membership meetings. Fellows will be offered space in the annual members show, the Box show and any other external exhibitions offered to artist members. In addition, the gallery will provide a $500 stipend to help cover materials and travel expenses. The fellowship joins the gallery’s other community outreach ventures, the Latino Photography Project and Artists in the Schools Program, and is funded by an anonymous donor. The application deadline is October 1, and the fellowship begins January 1. Artists may apply online at galleryrouteone.org/call-to-artists, and questions may be sent to [email protected]
