Funeral services were held last Friday for Jose Gonzalez Ramirez, a West Marin rancher and handyman who died on April 2 at age 35. Remembered by friends as a hard worker, he worked the night shift at the Renati Dairy in Petaluma before heading out to Dillon Beach during the day to help as a handyman and carpenter. “He was really good,” said Pauline Colbert, who owns a vacation house in Dillon Beach. “Everyone loved him. And boy, oh boy, did he love his children.” Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Mr. Ramirez leaves behind his wife, Ana, 35, and three children—Misael, 12, Karen, 10, and Ivan, 5—the eldest of which needs constant monitoring for Type 1 diabetes.
