Bob Singleton, the former co-owner of Rancho Feeding Corporation, pled guilty on Friday to one count of conspiring to distribute adulterated, misbranded and uninspected meat. “Mr. Singleton regrets the harm this situation has caused his community,” his lawyer Pamela Davis said. “He has decided to cooperate with the government, as he feels it is the right thing to do.” She added that he has not yet settled on a plea deal with the government regarding his sentence, which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, three years of probation and a $250,000 fine. Mr. Singleton was released on a $50,000 bond and his passport will be suspended until his next court appearance in late November.
