The Point Reyes National Seashore granted a five-year concession contract to Five Brooks Camp to continue operating the neighboring horse camp formerly run by the Stewart family. Five Brooks, which has been run by Andrew Loose for 30 years, has been operating the Stewart Horse Camp on a temporary contract set to expire this year. “I’m thankful to the park people for giving me the confidence and the trust to operate this for another five years,” Mr. Loose said. He plans to maintain the status quo, offering trail rides in the seashore and a place for riders to stay overnight with their horses. The horse camp’s future was up in the air in 2019 after the Stewarts, who ran the camp for 50 years, ended their concession agreement with the park. Mr. Loose reopened the camp for the summer season after signing a two-year lease with the park.
