The Marin County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department are handing out evacuation tags to make it easier for first responders to know who was able to leave during a disaster. The tag, which says “EVACUATED” in red, can be fixed to a mailbox, front door, garage or the end of a driveway, allowing first responders to check the next home rather than use their own ribbon or tape to mark the home. The tags are available at any fire station or sheriff’s substation in Marin, and you can pick up more than one and hand them out to your neighbors.
