The California Coastal Commission certified two out of the seven amendments that compose the update to Marin County’s 1980 Local Coastal Program on Feb. 6 at a hearing in Half Moon Bay. The language in the two sections, which pertain to agriculture and definitions throughout the update, is that approved by the Marin County Board of Supervisors in December. The more-than-decade-long effort by the two agencies to create contemporary development regulations for the coastal zone now turns to the final two sections, which relate to environmental hazards.
