Fifty people from 20 countries, including Bolivia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Fiji, France, Germany, India, Jordan, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Taiwan, Venezuela and Vietnam, will take the oath of allegiance under the oaks at Bear Valley Visitor Center, in Point Reyes National Seashore, on Monday, September 17. The naturalization ceremony is one of many taking place in national parks during Citizenship Week under a partnership between the National Park Service and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. It will begin at 11 a.m. on September 17 and will include remarks by Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, Superintendent Cicely Muldoon and National Park Service Regional Director Christine Lehnertz. West Marin School sixth, seventh and eighth-graders will sing the national anthem. All are welcome to attend.
