San Geronimo resident Tyler James Poppe was released from Marin County Jail on Tuesday after posting $45,000 bail, according to jail records. Mr. Poppe, 23, was arrested last Thursday on charges of evading police, resisting a police officer, and hit and run, a California Highway Patrol press release stated. According to the press release, Mr. Poppe was arrested at his home in San Geronimo last Thursday after leading a C.H.P patrol officer on a chase down a narrow street in Woodacre that ended when his white Ford Bronco collided with a pole and slid into a creek bed. The Bronco caught on fire and Mr. Poppe fled on foot to his home, where officers located him a short time later. Mr. Poppe is also facing charges for violating a three-year probation for assaulting a man outside a Fairfax bar in April 2013, according to district attorney reports. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 26.
