Gardening, bee keeping, a tea party and a magic show are just some of the events and information sessions planned for the Bolinas Community Center’s spring fundraiser, “Plant Magic,” this month. “This is for our general fund,” said General Manager Lia Sabbatini, explaining that fundraisers help maintain reasonable class prices and “keep the doors open.” The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 19 with an evening gala, silent auction preview and a talk on food security. On Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. the BCC will sell plants, herbs, flowers, oysters, salads, quiches and tacos, as well as beer, wine and potentially “other surprises.” There will also be vendors and information booths from local businesses and organizations. Special events for children include seed planting, a magic show and a tea party. Other sessions cover organic gardening, bee keeping and nutrient cycling. Businesses interested in having a booth, which cost $100, can still sign up. Email [email protected] or call (415) 868.2128 for more information.
