Homeless camps removed from Martinelli Park.

December 7, 2017
Rangers with Marin County Parks on Wednesday removed homeless camps from Martinelli Park in Inverness, where homeless people have for years made a home on the bay. Kathy Hartzell of the Inverness Association, which manages the park, said she gave the Sheriff’s Office permission to remove the encampment “in the spirit of doing what’s good for the environment.” The move came about two weeks after a newcomer was arrested at the nearby store on four felony counts after he “drank about a half-gallon of whiskey with a couple friends,” said longtime camper Ernie Emerick. For his part, Mr. Emerick, who has lived in the park for five years, said he will probably go to Bolinas.
