Heavy storms cause road closures.

WEATHER: Heavy rains this week caused yet more road closures and flooding. Sir Francis Drake Boulevard was closed for most of Tuesday from east of Olema through Lagunitas. That, coupled with the closure of Nicasio Valley Road south of the Lucas Valley Road intersection, made for a hectic commute for some that day. Papermill Creek, pictured above, rose enough to close Levee Road on Tuesday afternoon. This week the Inverness Public Utility District said rainfall had surpassed the yearly average of 37.14 inches for the first time since 2011, when the total for the year was 48.70 inches.   David Briggs
