After an afternoon of hikes, guided walks and kayak expeditions, donors converged on Bear Valley Visitor Center Saturday evening to enjoy a cocktail hour of local cheeses, oysters, wine and mead and a dinner of braised duck leg at the Point Reyes National Seashore Association’s annual fundraiser, Dinner on the Pacific Plate. The event also celebrated the 50th anniversary this month of President Johnson’s signing of the Wilderness Act, a piece of legislation that “might be difficult to pass in modern times,” said Superintendent Cicely Muldoon, but whose legacy the group plans to preserve for another 50 years.
