Monday’s rains contributed to at least two vehicle accidents along the coast. After receiving a report of a car in a ditch, emergency personnel drove to Marshall before turning around and later finding the Mercedes, sans driver, just before Point Reyes Vineyards. The same day another car flipped over between Stinson Beach and Bolinas, trapping the driver inside. And the next morning, a highway patrol officer found a vehicle 120 feet down an embankment, north of Dogtown. The car and its owner, a 93-year-old San Rafael man, had been missing for five weeks. After a joint effort involving the county’s search and rescue crew, a body was removed. The coroner’s office has not yet identified it. David Briggs
