A home was left heavily charred by a fire that sparked last Wednesday night on the corner of Aspen and Poplar Roads, Bolinas Fire Chief George Krakauer said. Firefighters responded from Bolinas, Stinson Beach and the county, containing the blaze within 30 minutes of calls placed by neighbors; the cause is still undetermined. No one was home at the time, and neighbor Will Bartlett said the cat had been let out for the night. Mr. Bartlett left home in his slippers and was the first on the scene. Flames were engulfing the side of the house, moving fast. “It was such a shock to see how quickly the fire had spread, but also I’m so grateful for the work of all firefighters on scene who so quickly doused the fire and saved the other structures on the property,” he said.    Will Bartlett
