BUSINESS: La Sirena Bo-tique, a new shop in downtown Bolinas offering a panoply of locally made jewelry, candies, ceramics and body care products, will have a soft opening this Friday. The shop’s owners, from left to right, are Katherine Weber, who runs a spa; Schehera Van Dyk, a ceramics artist; Chou Chou Mora Lopez, an esthetician and jewelry maker; Emery Calo Vest, who makes candy; and Nicole Apostoli, a jewelry maker (not pictured). La Sirena sits next door to the newly opened bakery, Beth’s Community Kitchen, and comes on the heels of several other businesses newly opened or purchased by women in Bolinas. “This community is always changing,” Ms. Vest said. “I think we need to create niches for each other, so that the whole town can benefit.” La Sirena Bo-tique will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays, and is expected to open seven days a week starting in May. — Beau Evans
