Blackbird, the iconic downtown Inverness coffee house/gallery owned by Jude Robinson, closes on July 31. A longtime local, Ms. Robinson’s dream had been to feature local talent in the evenings but was thwarted by county regulations. Despite that setback, the place was popular with locals and visitors alike. Dorito Marringa, above, was a regular who usually sipped coffee while checking her mail. It is rumored that the cafe will return under different ownership. A farewell party on Sunday, July 27, starting at 6 p.m., will feature music by Danny Vitali, Van Van Der Maaten, The Old Way and others.
