Coast Miwok activist Yulu Ewis read from her award-winning collection of poems, “’Ope,” at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center on Sunday. Ms. Ewis, who lives in Sacramento, said the cultural tradition that binds her gives her many stories to tell. She was among several Indigenous writers who visited West Marin over the weekend. At Toby’s, Theresa Harlan, who is advocating for a new historic district in the Point Reyes National Seashore that recognizes her family’s roots on Tomales Bay, spoke along with others at a Point Reyes Books event on Saturday.
