THE BROADCAST STUDIO AND ANTENNA OF KWMR, WEST MARIN’S COMMUNITY RADIO STATION AT THE OLD GREEN RED BARN — 1999
KWMR was created in 1995 and began broadcasting on Horizon Cable channel 11, now channel 47. In May 1998, after the new antenna was installed, the FCC approved the license and KWMR went on the air at 90.5 FM as a bonafide radio broadcast station. In the summer of 1999, a transmitter went on line in Bolinas and Stinson; this week, a transmitter went on line for the San Geronimo Valley. At the time of this photograph, new studios were being built in the
