LIVE ANIMALS: Paloma Russ, a fourth grader at Lagunitas School, has been enamored with cheetahs since she was 3, but is deeply concerned that they may go extinct in 20 years. On Saturday, Oct. 16, she will host a fundraiser replete with a live cheetah, activities, food and an educational presentation, at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center. All proceeds will go to the Cheetah Conservation Fund, an organization based in Namibia, which says it costs $5,000 to rehabilitate one orphaned cheetah.
